• 1. The episode starts with perhaps the most epic “Previously on Doctor Who . . .” in, well, 705 episodes.
• 2. The prevailing fan theory about how this episode fits into continuity – – which, in fairness, has been all but confirmed by the BBC’s marketing campaign – – is correct.
• 3. However, the prevailing fan theory as to whom Mark Gatiss is “actually” playing is not correct.
• 4. Any hopes of this episode recreating the missing parts of the First Doctor’s final serial, The Tenth Planet, should be laid to rest: Ben and Polly barely cameo in the episode’s teaser.
• 5. We see the final scene from “The Doctor Falls,” this time from the First Doctor’s point of view . . .
