It’s time for the results of last week’s poll with your thoughts on the final ever story of The Sarah Jane Adventures, The Man Who Never Was. Many of you thought it was a fitting conclusion to the series with 80% of those who voted giving full marks. 11% rated it good; 4% thought it was average; just 3% rated it poor; just 2% rated it awful.

The Ultimate Sarah Jane Adventure

In related news, CBBC are asking viewers to vote to for their “Ultimate Sarah Jane Adventure” from a choice of five.

The stories are: Revenge of the Slitheen, The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, The Death of the Doctor and The Man Who Never Was.

The winning story will be shown on CBBC Monday 31st October at 5.45pm.

You can vote by clicking here. The poll closes this Friday at 9am.

The Sarah Jane Adventures has received nominations in the prestigious 2011 British Academy Children’s Awards.

The annual Awards celebrate excellence in the art forms of the moving image for Children – from Film and Television to Video Games and Websites.

The series is up for Best Drama, against Combat Kids, House Of Anubis and Just William.

Phil Ford is also nominated for Best Writer against James Lamont and Jon Foster (The Amazing World of Gumball); Ben Ward, Steve Punt and Dave Cohen (Horrible Histories); and Simon Nye for (Just William).

If you’re aged between 7-14, you can vote The Sarah Jane Adventures for best TV show in BAFTA Kid’s Vote. Click here.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday 27 November.

In the video below you can watch a montage of clips shown at the conclusion of the final ever episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. It features scenes from throughout the show as well as some of the the 10th Doctor and Sarah Jane.

CBBC are currently repeating every episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures and can be watched on iPlayer.

So after 27 stories and 53 episodes, we say farewell to The Sarah Jane Adventures and one of the Whoniverse’s most beloved characters. But as Sarah Jane said in School Reunion: “The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it’s a world, or a relationship. Everything has its time. And everything ends.” Elisabeth Sladen ensured that the character and the show will never be forgotten.

Tomorrow marks a sad day for the Whoniverse as we say goodbye to The Sarah Jane Adventures. The second part of The Man Who Never Was concludes the story and the series. The truth behind Joseph Serf’s company is out – alien Light Sculptors, slaves kept beneath his office building. As Luke and Sky try to find a way to free them and get them home safely, Sarah Jane needs Clyde and Rani to come and help her – and get married along the way…
