Below you will find the finalised UK BARB ratings for Doctor Who Series 6. Unlike the overnight ratings (which certain newspapers use to claim the show is losing viewers), the final figures count those who recorded the show and watched it later, making them a more accurate measure of how many were watching.

  • 1. The Impossible Astronaut – 8.86 million
  • 2. Day of the Moon – 7.30 million
  • 3. The Curse of the Black Spot – 7.85 million
  • 4. The Doctor’s Wife – 7.97 million
  • 5. The Rebel Flesh – 7.35 million
  • 6. The Almost People – 6.72 million
  • 7. A Good Man Goes to War – 7.57 million
  • 8. Let’s Kill Hitler – 8.1 million
  • 9. Night Terrors – 7.07 million
  • 10. The Girl Who Waited – 7.60 million
  • 11. The God Complex – 6.77 million
  • 12. Closing Time – 6.93 million
  • 13. The Wedding of River Song – 7.67 million (6.1 million overnight)

Note: these do not include iPlayer viewings which have, in some cases, added over 1 million on top of these.

Series 6 saw Steven Moffat bring some more changes to the Doctor Who format. The story arc became much more central than in previous years and we also had the series split into two chunks with a three month wait in between. The question is, did these changes work or were you fine with how it was before? Did you mind the split? Was it too arc heavy? And what format would you like Series 7 use?

Since the conclusion of Series 6, we’ve received a number of emails asking what happened to a couple of scenes that were originally shown in the first trailer released last Christmas. Some had assumed they would turn up in the finale and were wondering about their absense.

The two scenes in particular: One featured River Song undressed in Stormcage.

In the video below you can watch the superb ‘River Song: Her Story’ segment from the final Doctor Who Confidential. If you missed it, Alex Kingston narrates as River over her timeline (so far) using clips from Series 4 to 6.

It reminds us again why Doctor Who Confidential needs saving.

You will no doubt have seen the news that Doctor Who Confidential was axed by the BBC earlier in the week, so tonight’s installment, When Time Froze, sadly, marks the last ever one. More details and clips follow.

Details:

Confidential takes a front pew at the wedding of the year. Alex Kingston talks about the big day and there’s the lowdown from Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.

Synopses

DWM synopsis: The city of London, 22 April 2011 – soaring buildings, glittering and mighty under a perfect blue sky, and life tumbling onto pavements below. And pterodactyls? And Charles Dickens appearing on BBC One’s Breakfast! Something isn’t quite right…

All of history is happening at once. “What happened to time?” asks Winston. The answer, it seems, is a woman…
