Douglas Mackinnon Directing Series 8
Mackinnon has directed four episodes so far. He was responsible for the Series 4 two parter – The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky in 2008, and more recently Series 7’s The Power of Three in 2012 and Cold War in 2013.
The news was confirmed by the man himself on Twitter who said pre-production (not shooting) was beginning next week.
He said: “Start back at Doctor Who on Monday. Can’t wait to get started!”
Mackinnon joins directors Ben Wheatley and Paul Murphy who are also working on two episodes each.
