Hurran for 50th Anniversary

The 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who will be directed by Nick Hurran, it has been confirmed today.

Hurran has directed four episodes so far. He was responsible for the Series 6 episodes The Girl Who Waited and The God Complex, and more recently Series 7’s Asylum of the Daleks and The Angels Take Manhattan.

The news was revealed at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival in a panel discussion.

Reporter Jonathan Melville wrote: “Nick Hurran “over the moon” about shooting #DoctorWho’s 50th in 3D. Tracking shot into TARDIS predicted.”

Doctor Who TV readers recently voted Hurran the Best Director of 2012.
