4. Knock Knock
Quote Unquote:
THE DOCTOR: “That’s your house?”
BILL: “Sharing. Yeah. Six of us. Renting.”
THE DOCTOR: “I thought you were students?”
BILL: “Yeah. I was like, ‘What’s the catch?’ But actually it’s fine, just a bit draughty.”
THE DOCTOR: “Draughty? (Licks his finger, holds it up)”
BILL: “I meant draughty inside.”
THE DOCTOR: “Interesting.”
5. Oxygen
In a nutshell:
Space Station Chasm Forge is cold and airless, but not empty. The Doctor, Bill and Nardole answer a distress call and find four survivors – plus another three dozen walking dead, a relentless space-suited army seeking to claim more lives. Can the Doctor and his party stay one step ahead of the horde? In a future where oxygen is currency, save your breath – it could make all the difference.
Quote Unquote:
TASKER: “It’s all just maths now: oxygen divided by bodies. And none of us have more than 3,000 breaths left.”
THE DOCTOR: “Then stop wasting them. I need a map of the base and a full rundown on what’s happened here.”
TASKER: “Who the hell put you in charge?”
THE DOCTOR: “I’m here to save lives. Anyone who doesn’t want me to, raise your hand now.”
6. Extremis
In a nutshell:
There is a text buried deep in the Vatican. A text older than the church itself. The language is lost – but thanks to the works of an early Christian sect, the title has survived: Veritas. All copies of the sect’s translation disappeared, shortly after their mass suicide. But then, a few months ago, the Veritas was translated again. And what does it say? No-one knows. Because everyone who worked on the translation is now dead, by their own hand. All bodies recovered. All except one…
Quote Unquote:
THE DOCTOR: “You don’t do this. The Pope doesn’t zoom around the world in the Popemobile, surprising people! Why would you do that?”
THE POPE: “Extremis.”
7. The Pyramid at the End of the World
In a nutshell:
When a 5,000-year-old pyramid appears, literally, overnight, Earth’s military leaders are baffled. But there are far more serious implications for the planet, which soon become apparent…
Quote Unquote:
THE DOCTOR: “There is a line in the sand, and I’m the man on the other side of it. You want to keep me that way.”
THE MONK: “We will take this planet and its people.”
THE DOCTOR: “You will be stopped.”
THE MONK: “No.”
THE DOCTOR: “You will be prevented. You will be fought.”
THE MONK: “No. We will be invited. We will take the Earth, but only when we’re asked. We will talk again.”
THE DOCTOR: “When?”
THE MONK: “At the end of the Earth.”
