Xmas Special/Series 6 Coming!
Although it was extremely unlikely the show would not continue beyond the fifth series (save a catastrophic ratings drop), the BBC had not actually confirmed anything, until now.
The Christmas special will be written by Steven Moffat for broadcast in December this year.
Matt Smith will return as the Doctor for another 13-episode sixth series in 2011.
Back in February Neil Gaiman said he was writing an episode for the sixth series, so this isn’t a huge surprise, but it’s great to know the show is safe for the near future. And of course a great time to be a Whovian!
