I just got back from Doctor Who Live! It was amazing! It ranks up with some of the best episodes of the series.
It played out like a 2-parter, with each part lasting 45 minutes and an interval (with a cliff-hanger of course!)
This is the first time the new Daleks actually felt threatening. This time, they had a very bad plan, but it all played out so well it made you think it was unbelievably clever.
My favourite part though was with the Weeping Angels. The scariest moment since Blink? Without a doubt. As the cliff-hanger approached, Vorgenson went back-stage to fix a problem with the Minimiser, to which something, (turned out to be the Daleks) unleashed the Weeping Angels on the audience. Some Policemen came to fix the problem, but were mercilessly killed in front of hundreds of 6-year old kids. The Weeping Angels were posing, not moving, and as the policeman stood next to it, there was a crazy, huge, strobe light flash and after that the Weeping Angel had changed into an entirely different position, and the policeman had disappeared. During the flashes a lot of screaming was heard, and this surprised me considering it was aimed at a family audience. How they did all this stuff beats the living tar out of me…
