Who’s in New York
Filming on the opening two-parter of Doctor Who Series 6 continues this week. Most of the action has been behind closed doors, but one of the more notable scenes – caught earlier in the week by set spies – required the production team to transform Cardiff (well, a very small part of it) into a New York city street…
…with an obligatory Checker Taxi. The shoot heavily focused on a little girl and a homeless person running away from something into a parking lot.
The posters in the alley (below) suggests that the story (or part of it) will take place around Summer 1969. What happened then? The Apollo 10 space program was launched in May, followed by Apollo 11 in July, which, of course, marked man’s first moon landing. Now cast your mind back to one of Steven Moffat’s teasers and he said, “Have you ever wondered about Apollo Ten and a half?”…We have now.
