Moffat: “Cool Stuff” for 2012
There’s still a lot of confusion surrounding yesterday’s announcement
How many episodes will actually air next year? And what does this mean for the 50th anniversary in 2013? Unfortunately, until the BBC makes an official press statement, this isn’t going to get cleared up, leaving rumours to run rampant.
However, there have been a couple of updates since the story first broke.
When asked about it on Twitter, Sam Hodges from the BBC replied, “Situation stays the same – 14 episodes commissioned, starting in 2012. How they will play out will be revealed at a later date.”
Steven Moffat then tweeted, “Misquotes and misunderstandings. But I’m not being bounced into announcing the cool stuff before we’re ready. Hush, and patience.”
Doctor Who Magazine followed up with, “Doctor Who’s future is safe and secure. And there is ‘cool stuff’ on the way, according to Steven Moffat. We can definitely vouch for that.”
So while we’re still no clearer than before, at least this is a little reassuring.
