Thompson Returning for Series 7

Doctor Who TV has received a tip that suggests Steve Thompson will be writing for the show again.

Thompson has only written one Doctor Who episode so far – Series 6’s divisive The Curse of the Black Spot. Though he was more recently responsible for Sherlock’s excellent second series finale, The Reichenbach Fall.

Our source indicates that Thompson’s episode will not be shown until next year. With scheduling on Series 7 still unclear, it’s possible his episode could appear in the latter half of the series, if it’s split over 2012 and 2013.

So far the only known writers next to Steven Moffat are Mark Gatiss and John Fay, who was credited on his CV and then later removed.
