BBC on Lost Classics Rumours

The BBC appear to have poured doubt on rumours that around 90 episodes of the classic series, originally wiped from BBC archives and thought lost forever, have been recovered.

The Radio Times contacted the BBC for an official statement and they said: “There are always rumours and speculation about Doctor Who missing episodes being discovered – however we cannot confirm any new finds.”

Pressed further they add: “We can’t confirm because it’s not true as far as I’m aware.”

“[So there are no episodes?] Not as far as we know.”
