Smith on Leaving: “I’ve made a mistake!”

It appears that when confronted by the sight of an upset little girl at the Nerd HQ panel, Matt Smith has witnessed the full impact he has had on fans by quitting Doctor Who.

When asked by the mother of the aforementioned child why he is leaving the role, Matt says: “It’s hard to leave. It’s an awful thing to contemplate, it really is. It’s been the most incredible experience of my life.

“Things like this and Comic-Con, it’s changed my life… It’s really depressing. You’ve gotta go when you’ve gotta go… I don’t know… I don’t know! I’ve made a mistake!”
