Blink Director for Series 9
This is according to the online CV of Production Designer Michael Pickwoad.
MacDonald previously worked on Doctor Who way back in 2007 directing the little-known Blink by Steven Moffat.
Her more recent TV work includes The Tunnel and Fortitude.
UPDATE: The BBC confirmed that filming on Block 2 began today. They released the following pic and teased: “Red dots on a world map… What d’you think it means? “
UPDATE 2: It appears the first episode being filmed will be UNIT story with Jemma Redgrave reprising her role as Kate Stewart once again.
