Meet Doctor Who’s Futuristic New Companion
After months of waiting, DWTV can exclusively reveal Doctor Who’s latest companion.
In a bold change to the show format, Series 10 will see the debut of robot NADINE (pictured).
The state of the art robot, developed by the Nanyang Technological University, beat hundreds of hopefuls to the role.
Lead writer Steven Moffat said: “I’m thrilled to welcome NADINE to the show. In her audition, Nadine quickly showed she could memorise every line of script perfectly, and in record time. No one else came close!”
Charlotte Moore, Controller, BBC One added: “With filming delayed until later in the year it was crucial that scenes could be shot in half the time and NADINE will perform the task exceptionally.”
Co-star Peter Capaldi said: “I can’t wait to start working with NADINE. It was vital to see someone very different in the role and Steven has just the ticket.”
However, the casting has caused some controversy with human rights group A.F.D. who feel the move could begin a worrying trend and see more valuable jobs taken from humans.
