The Doctor to Degenerate Back Into David Tennant
Doctor Who TV can exclusively reveal today that Peter Capaldi will not in fact regenerate this Christmas. Instead, fans will see the reverse.
In a startling twist, the Time Lord will revisit past incarnations following the 12th Doctor’s final moments this Christmas. We’ll see him cycle back down to the Tenth Doctor.
David Tennant will once again be reprising his iconic role, and will then join new showrunner Chris Chibnall for Series 11 next year.
The move comes as part of a BBC strategy to attempt to recapture the popularity of the Tennant era. Billie Piper is also in talks to bring back Rose.
Chris Chibnall said: “Rather than cast a new actor, we realised we already had the perfect candidate. The Tenth Doctor is easily the most loved of the entire modern era. Plus with Broadchurch finishing, David’s looking for work again. I should know.”
Steven Moffat said: “Why didn’t I think of that!?”
Peter Capaldi said: “I don’t want to go!”
David Tennant said: “Sorry, but understand this is just until Marvel bring Kilgrave back.”
Matt Smith said: “Well technically, I’m more popular when rated on a 10-point scale.”
Christopher Eccleston said: “I’VE TOLD YOU! DON’T EVER TALK TO ME ABOUT DOCTOR WHO AGAIN!”
Paul McGann said: “Come on, you bring me in for one mini-episode and that’s it! Are you insane?!”
Sylvester McCoy said: “Rrrubbish!”
Colin Baker said: “Why do you all still hate Sixie? Is it just the costume?”
Peter Davison said: “Did you know he’s my son-in-law? It’s all rather quaint.”
Tom Baker said: “I’m still the longest-serving and therefore will always be the best. It’s an indisputable fact.”
