YOUR Verdict on the New Titles, TARDIS & “The Ghost Monument”

It’s time to reveal DWTV’s second set of poll results for Series 11, as voted for by you over the last week or so.

Following episode 2’s reveal of the new title sequence we wanted to know what you thought. Here’s how you voted:

As we can see, it’s a hit with over 81% voting either “Good” or “Great”.

Then, we also wanted to know what you made of the new TARDIS interior. Here’s how you voted:

The TARDIS design meanwhile was a little more split.

As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.

A few thousand of you voted, and the average score was 6.84. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be in the range of “Above Average” to “Good”, leaning more towards the latter. It’s obviously not the highest result, and a drop off from last week, but it was still on the positive side of scores.
This score leaves “The Ghost Monument” as the 97^th highest rated episode of the revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken from earlier in 2018). That’s a little more towards the back of the rankings. More specifically, it is situated between “Hide” (6.87) and “The Sontaran Stratagem” (6.79).
This means “The Ghost Monument” is now Chris Chibnall’s second highest rated Doctor Who episode so far, including his work pre-showrunner. His third highest is now “The Hungry Earth” (6.68).
The standard deviation – which is our measure for how divisive an episode is – was 2.20. While it wasn’t quite as high as episode 1, this still indicates there was significant divisiveness between voters for the second week.
If we consider all the episode 2’s in the revival, “The Ghost Monument” is now 7th. “The Day of the Moon” is the highest.
