Doctor Who Proms Tonight on BBC3
If you were unable to attend the Doctor Who Proms back in July, tonight you can experience it from the comfort of your own living room, courtesy of BBC3.
Doctor Who at the Proms 2010 airs today from 8.30pm on BBC3. The TV edit of the Doctor Who music extravaganza will last an hour.
Stars of the series Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill host a concert featuring Murray Gold’s music for the sci-fi programme, including his latest reimagining of Ron Grainer’s classic theme tune. Featuring performances by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Philharmonic Choir, and soloists Yamit Mamo and Mark Chambers, as well as a guest appearance by the Doctor himself Matt Smith. Ben Foster is the conductor.
Also available on BBC’s red button service will Backstage at the Doctor Who Prom. According to the official website, “This 25-minute special gives an access-all-areas view of the concert and features Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill.”
A longer version of the proms will air this Friday 10th September at 7pm on BBC3.
