BBC Wales Director Suggests Series 13 Filming Might be Delayed
In April, Showrunner Chris Chibnall seemed confident production would still go ahead as planned.
But now BBC Wales’ director Rhodri Talfan Davies has caused some doubts.
Davies said during a recent online Q&A: “It’ll be down to social distancing. A production like that which at any point employs hundreds of people, freelance and staff, I don’t believe can be made to the current standard in a socially-distanced environment. So it depends on when you think social distancing is going to come to an end.”
“This is something we need to keep an eye on. It very well may be that the rules on social distancing in Wales are different to those in England. And obviously each production sectors of those two countries are going to need to respond to the specific rules and regulations that each of the governments introduces.”
The festive special, “Revolution of the Daleks” has already been filmed, so broadcast of that should remain on course at least.
