It’s time to reveal DWTV’s poll results for the second episode of Series 13, “War of the Sontarans”, as voted for by you over the last week or so.
“War of the Sontarans”: Score Breakdown
As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.
- A few thousand of you voted, and the average score was 7.06. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be in the “Good” range.
- This score leaves “War of the Sontarans” as the 95th highest rated episode of the revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken from 2018). More specifically, it is situated between “Spyfall, Part 2” (7.01) and “The Unicorn and the Wasp” (7.08).
- This is Chibnall’s 4th highest rated solo-written episode yet, behind “Spyfall, Part 1” (7.43), “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” (7.35) and “Ascension of the Cybermen” (7.30).
- “War of the Sontarans” is now the highest rated Sontaran story of the revival, beating “The Sontaran Stratagem” / “The Poison Sky” (6.78).
- The standard deviation – which is our measure of how divisive an episode is – was 2.39. Though scores over 2 are still considered highly divisive, it’s actually the 2nd least divisive episode of the Chibnall era. So far, Series 13 is less divisive than Series 12.
- Overall, this is a solid, if not spectacular result for Series 13.
