YOUR Verdict on “Village of the Angels” – Series 13’s Best Yet
It’s time to reveal DWTV’s poll results for the fourth episode of Series 13, “Village of the Angels”, as voted for by you over the last week or so.
“Village of the Angels”: Score Breakdown
As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.
- A few thousand of you voted, and the average score was 7.79. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be in the “good” to “very good” range.
- This score leaves “Village of the Angels” as the 59th highest rated episode of the revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken from 2018). More specifically, it is situated between “The Snowmen” (7.78) and “The Zygon Invasion” (7.83).
- “Village of the Angels” now marks the 3rd highest rated episode of the Chibnall era thus far, knocking Maxine Alderton’s last story “The Haunting of Villa Diodati” to fourth.
- “Village of the Angels” is the 3rd highest Weeping Angels story, behind two-parter “The Time of Angels” / “Flesh and Stone” (8.19/8.05), and “Blink” (9.34)
- The standard deviation – which is our measure of how divisive an episode is – was 2.48. A polarising score again, but on the lesser side for the Chibnall era.
- Overall: After last week’s disappointing drop, we’re back into much healthier territory. While it’s another episode that sadly can’t quite reach an 8, it’s a good result for this era.
