60th Filming Reveals Who Yasmin Finney’s Rose Is
Filming has continued on Doctor Who today, and it clears up one of the big questions fans have had…
This post may contain spoilers! Read on at your own risk.
Yesterday saw the official announcement that Yasmin Finney was joining the cast as “Rose”. Some had assumed Finney might have been playing Rose Tyler (of course, most famously played by Billie Piper). Some news sites even ran this as their headline.
However, in scenes shot today, Finney’s Rose has been heard saying “mum” to Donna as she leaves in the TARDIS with the Doctor.
They're really saying goodbye to Donna and she's going on an adventure with the Doctor I can't survive this #dwsr pic.twitter.com/JXjkD35fDf

Filming also confirmed that Jacqueline King is reprising her role as Silvia Noble, who is seen hugging Rose. The scene shot sees the Nobles, including Donna’s husband Shaun, waving goodbye as Donna presumably goes on a new adventure in time and space. Of course, that brings up a whole new set of questions!

So there we have it, the whole announcement was just a nice bit of playful trolling from RTD. The type he likes to do to stir up publicity (it worked!)
