BBC Newsnight Hints at 13th Doctor, Denial Follows
BBC Newsnight featured a segment last night that possibly hinted at Phoebe Waller-Bridge taking the role of the next Doctor.
This isn’t the first time the Fleabag star’s name has surfaced of course, having remained at in the bookies’ favourites lists for months (alongside Kris Marshall).
Phoebe Waller-Bridge also previously worked with incoming Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall on Series 2 of Broadchurch.

The clip is taken from an interview recorded back in May, specifically time stamp 20:40:
At the time, instead of outright denying the rumours, Phoebe coyly responded: “I am not allowed to say anything about that, one way or the other.”
Before adding: “Erm… It would be cool. But… I’m doing other stuff.”
In response to the rumour again resurfacing, Phoebe’s theatre company Dry Write attempted to put an end to talks on Twitter today, tweeting: “We can confirm that Phoebe is not the next Doctor Who. Pls save the betting people their money!”
