Birthdays: McCoy, Aldred & Ainley
Sylvester McCoy was born 20 August 1943 and today celebrates his 72nd birthday.
McCoy, of course, succeeded the Sixth Doctor Colin Baker. He played the seventh incarnation of our favourite Time Lord until the show’s cancellation in 1989. He reprised the role for his regeneration in the 1996 TV movie.
And coincidentally McCoy’s partner in crime Sophie Aldred, AKA Ace, is 53 today.
The Master himself, Anthony Ainley, was also born on this day in 1932. Sadly he is no longer with us, but would have been 83 years old.
