Wii Game Confirmed

In January the BBC announced plans to develop a Doctor Who video game. MCV has now confirmed that a game will be released in the UK this October for the Nintendo Wii.

Yesterday The Sun claimed a £10 million deal has been signed to create a game exclusively for the Nintendo platforms.

The game will apparently feature Matt Smith’s Doctor alongside enemies including the Daleks, Cybermen and Silurians.

An ‘insider’ told the paper: “This has been in the pipeline for years. We’re delighted to have finally nailed down a deal. We went with Nintendo as they have huge appeal for families and Doctor Who is very much a family brand. The Wii console is key for us as it’s something families play together.”

David Tennant is quoting as saying, “The video game was quite actively developed, but it’s difficult to nail as the Doctor doesn’t blow things up. He’s not Batman, who goes around smacking people in the head.”
