Eccleston Says He’ll Return to TV as Ninth Doctor “When hell freezes over”

Christopher Eccleston’s return to the Ninth Doctor role officially became a reality this week as he began recordings for the previously announced Big Finish audio dramas.

Naturally this had led some fans to wonder if Eccleston would now be open to coming back to the TV series (the 60th anniversary is only a few years away, after all).

However, when posed the question earlier today on ITV’s Lorraine, it wasn’t good news…

Eccleston said: “I know what you’re getting at, Lorraine, but only when hell freezes over, as the Eagles once said.”
