Notes

These episodes take place in the year 200,100. A few of Rose’s scenes take place in 2006 sometime after the events of ‘Boom Town’.

This location of the Gamestation is revealed to be Satellite 5 from ‘The Long Game’.

The Dalek Emperor is seen for the first time.

Many fans were convinced the ancient Doctor Who enemy Davros would make an appearance due to a hoax entry on the IMDb.

The scene where Jack is standing naked was snipped in the editing room. Originally a camera angle showed his bare behind.

These two episodes had the lowest viewing figures of the entire series (just under 7 million). However this is most likely a reflection of the hot summer weather than dwindling viewers.

The Bad Wolf mystery is finally cleared up. Rose scattered the phrase throughout time as a message to herself to come back and save The Doctor.

Captain Jack (John Barrowman)is left behind with no apparent means of escape. In the 2005 Children in Need special, when Rose suggests going back to get Jack, The Doctor says that they can’t as he is busy rebuilding earth. This has caused some confusion as the fact Jack was actually alive was never divulged between these two characters (on screen).

John Barrowman will return to Doctor Who in the third series due 2007.

Gameshows mentioned/spoofed – Big Brother, The Weakest Link, What Not To Wear, Call My Bluff, Countdown, Ground Force, Wipeout and Stars in Their Eyes.

Torchwood is mentioned in an answer to one of Rose’s questions . Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who.

The BBC confirmed later in 2005 that ‘Torchwood’ was a new Doctor who spin-off staring Captain Jack to be aired in 2006.

Christophers Ecclestons final appearance as The Doctor. Early reports suggested he would actually be in the Christmas episode. This proved false however.

David Tennant makes his first appearance as the Tenth Doctor.

Two endings to ‘The Parting of the Ways’ were filmed. The one seen, and one in which the ninth Doctor survived.
