Last Christmas TV Trailer Breakdown
It’s time to take an in-depth look at the latest TV trailer for this year’s festive special, Last Christmas.

The trailer begins innocently enough with a suitably Christmas feel, but it’s really luring us into a false sense of security.
We then see Clara waking up in her bed startled. This doesn’t appear to her Series 8 flat, so the question is where is she staying?
Doctor: “I’m back. Now get inside the TARDIS.”
The Doctor and Clara are reunited after their 422nd goodbye. Only this time it’s been six months since they last saw each other. This scene will be familiar to many as it was first shown during Children in Need. Santa wakes up Clara after crashing into her roof and then the Doctor appears soon after needing her help.
We pan over the imaginatively titled Ice Cap Polar Base, where much of the action takes place. A striking visual look thanks to director Paul Wilmshurst (Kill the Moon, Mummy on the Orient Express.)

Some unfortunate members of the base have been taken over by Dream Crabs and are rising from their slumber. Sleepers seems an appropriate name.
We see some of the slightly less unfortunate base crew battling a snow storm. On the left Maureen Beattie as Bellows and…
…in focus Natalie Gumede who is playing Ashley Carter.
Well at least Clara’s got a coat on now. She would have caught her death. Or maybe she will regardless…
The base survivors, the Doctor and Clara backing off outside the base.
They mostly come at night… mostly. Someone call Ellen Ripley, stat!
