Lily Arwell Returns in The Churchill Years, Story Details
Holly first appeared as Lily in the 2011 Doctor Who Christmas Special The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe, where she aided Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor in rescuing her brother from a dangerous alien world.
Now working as a nurse for Winston Churchill (Ian McNeice) in his twilight years, Lily will find herself helping to overcome an alien incursion in The Chartwell Metamorphosis, the climatic story in the Doctor Who: The Churchill Years box-set.
Lily is one of the many character from the New Series of Doctor Who which producer David Richardson was keen to use in the first wave of Big Finish’s new range.
‘If we’ve learned one thing from nearly 52 years of Doctor Who, it’s that meeting the Doctor transforms people’s lives. And Lily life has been changed by the events of that Christmas episode – and what follows, as she is called in by the Doctor to help a friend in need. Lily is one of those great companions-that-might-have-been, and here she gets the chance to rise to the fore and fight an alien menace!’
Holly is the final member of cast for the brand-new box set, released in 2016. Already announced is the return of Danny Horn as Kazran Sardick, along with Alistair Petrei as Julius Caesar, Emily Atack as Hetty Warner, Laura Rogers as Queen Tristahna and Nicholas Briggs as a rogue Dalek, trapped in ancient Britain.
Doctor Who: The Churchill Years will be released in January 2016.
