Maisie Williams’ Future & Next Companion Rumours
“I hope that she comes back,” Williams said in a BBC video interview. “Everyone’s been saying, ‘does she come back?’ The crew only know how much is in the [filming] block. I hope so, but I have no idea.
She adds: “I know they’ve had characters similar to Ashildr that have come back in future episodes and future series, so we’ll see. I think there’s a good chance!”
UPDATE: At this weekend’s London Comic Con, Series 9 writer Sarah Dollard has subsequently revealed that Maisie Williams will be back in the tenth episode “Face the Raven”.
Meanwhile, more rumours have been circulating in the press about the next companion and reports claim Faye Marsay is now the latest favourite.
Marsay of course played Shona in last year’s festive special, Last Christmas.
A source apparently told the Daily Star: “Everyone thinks Faye will be a great sidekick and the fact she’s been on Doctor Who as another character before doesn’t matter.”
Ladbrokes have given her odds of 6/1 to take on the role.
Earlier in the year Marsay said she would “definitely go back and do more Doctor Who. Whether they’d have me back, I don’t know!”
