Millie Gibson Reportedly “Dropped” from Doctor Who, Replaced by Varada Sethu
As previously rumoured, it appears Millie Gibson’s time in the TARDIS is coming to an end, and even sooner than we expected.
The Mirror, whose track record with Doctor Who news has been spot-on of late, reports the Ruby Sunday actress has been “dropped” from the series.
According to the report, Russell T Davies made the decision after the filming of her first run concluded last year.
Gibson is said to appear in only three of the eight episodes in Series 15 (to air in 2025), with one of them being a standalone story to wrap up Ruby’s journey with the Doctor.
She will apparently be replaced by actress Varada Sethu, who has already been spotted filming in Cardiff. Varada has appeared in various TV adventure series but is more recently known for her role in Disney’s Star Wars spin-off Andor.
A source stated: “Varada is a real gem, Russell was just blown away by her talent. The cast and crew have really warmed to her and he’s sure the fans will too.”
If true, expect the BBC to make an official announcement shortly.
