Moffat Has No “Immediate” Plans to Write for RTD’s Second Era
Speaking at an Oxford Union Q&A, Moffat was asked about coming back, and he responded: “I’ve only just left! I mean, it feels like yesterday. I think Doctor Who fans will be throwing themselves off buildings if I came back. No, it’s not in my immediate plans.
“For Russell, Doctor Who is over ten years ago. For me, it’s three or four years, and I mean that really does at my age feel like yesterday. I haven’t got perspective on it yet. Maybe the beginning of the Matt Smith stuff starts to feel like a different life, but it feels like nothing ago that I was doing it.”
He adds: “I’m really curious to see what Russell’s second go-round is like, what he does now. Because being the restless man he is, it won’t be the same as the first time. Don’t think you know what you’re going to get, you don’t!
“I know a little bit because we chatted. He wouldn’t be doing this unless he could scare the living shit out of you. It will be great.”
Moffat also said that RTD had spoken to him about the casting of the 14th Doctor: “I was talking to Russell the other day, and he started that conversation. Just surprise me. I don’t care. I don’t want to know. I want to sit in the audience.”
