Moffat’s Series 7 Companion Tease
Ahead of filming later this month, Steven Moffat has dropped a couple of vague hints for Series 7 and the new companion.
Speaking in the accompanying programme for Doctor Who’s Symphonic Spectacular, Moffat teased: “Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary is coming. In Cardiff, we’re gearing up for the biggest, the best and the most ambitious season we’ve ever made. There will be shocks, surprises and heartbreak – the Doctor is about to say goodbye to his very best friends, Amy and Rory.”
OK, so that’s nothing we haven’t heard before really, but the more intriguing bit about the next companion follows:
“And then he’s about to say hello to someone very different – the Doctor is going to meet someone very new in the very last place he could ever have expected…”
It’s not much to go on, but could it tie-in with Moffat’s earlier hint that we might see something other than an earth-born human joining the Doctor? It would certainly make for a bit of a change up.
Thanks to Jon for the tip.
