R.I.P. Diana Rigg (1938-2020)
Doctor Who TV is saddened to report on the passing of Diana Rigg.
Rigg died aged 82 following a battle with cancer. Her agent said: “She died peacefully early this morning. She was at home with her family”.
Rigg had a long and storied acting career (including 1960s classics The Avengers and James Bond), but most Whovians will remember her guest spot in 2013 episode “The Crimson Horror”, where she played the villainous Mrs Gillyflower.
Following her Doctor Who role, she went on to recur in Game of Thrones as Olenna Tyrell across five seasons.
Her final screen role will be Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho, due for release April 2021.
