Revival Ranking: 36-1 – Readers’ Highest Rated Episodes
Last month DWTV asked you to score every televised episode of the Doctor Who revival to date – that’s the episodes airing between 2005-2017. After almost 25,000 votes, and the scores verified and sorted into descending order, we can now present the results.
We conclude with the episodes roughly representing “Very Good” to “Great,” according to the DWTV score guide.

And there we have it. “The Day of the Doctor” has lost its crown, if only by a very narrow margin!
In an interesting coincidence (or is it?), “Heaven Sent” in fact scored the exact same as “The Day of the Doctor” did when it topped the list in 2015. The epic 50th anniversary special only lost 0.01 score in the intervening years. An impressive feat in itself though.
But of course it comes as little surprise to ultimately see Steven Moffat’s highest critically praised episode since 2013, taking the top spot this time around. Well done to Steven Moffat and “Heaven Sent” for breaking down that wall.
And thank you for all your votes!
