River Song in Series 8?

It’s no secret that River Song will be making another appearance again this year in the latter half of Series 7. Producer Caroline Skinner confirmed as much late last year. But what does the future hold beyond that?

Based on Alex Kingston’s latest comments, it appears River will remain on Doctor Who for a while yet.

Kingston has said she is happy to continue playing the role for as long as Moffat needs:

“I’m so attached to that character. I never expected her to grow and develop in the way she has. You never know whether she’s going to be hard-ass or good. As long as Steven Moffat has storylines that include her, I will always say yes,” she says in the new issue of Radio Times.
