Ryan Gosling Reportedly Set for Doctor Who Role
Hollywood A-lister Ryan Gosling is reportedly set for a role in Doctor Who, according to rumours.
Gosling recently portrayed Ken in Barbie. Notably, this film also starred the Fifteenth Doctor himself, Ncuti Gatwa. It was from this that the rumours initially emerged.
During filming, Gosling is said to have approached Gatwa, expressing his admiration for Doctor Who. Earlier this year, Gatwa shared an anecdote about this encounter, recalling Gosling’s enthusiastic remark: “Doctor Who is the coolest show in the world, man! I’m the biggest fan.”
Additionally, Gosling was seen wearing a Doctor Who T-shirt that prominently displayed Gatwa as the Doctor. This overt nod to the series even caught the attention of showrunner Russell T Davies on Instagram.

When Davies was later questioned about the matter on The One Show, he played down the speculation.

However, recent reports from The Sun suggest that Gosling has indeed been “approached about a guest role”.
A TV insider apparently said: “This would be a huge coup for the show, but also a real honour for Ryan who is something of a Whovian.”
As always, it’s prudent to take such rumours with a grain of salt, especially given The Sun’s spotty track record. But then again, stranger things have happened…
