Tennant: Second 60th Special Will Be “Unlike Any Doctor Who Episode Ever”
David Tennant has teased that fans can expect an episode of Doctor Who “unlike any ever” in the upcoming 60th anniversary specials.
The special Tennant specifically references is “Wild Blue Yonder,” the second of the three specials.
Speaking to Empire, Tennant said: “I was surprised when I saw what that first script was based on, then I read the second script, which is unlike any Doctor Who episode ever. These new specials are Russell off the leash.”
Adding to the intrigue, Tennant further delved into the unexpected return of his familiar face. “That was the first exciting piece of mischief that Russell created,” says Tennant. “That I was going to be Doctor No. 14 rather than Doctor No. 10 again. You’ll just have to wait and see why the 14th Doctor is so much like the 10th.”
Empire also debuted a new image, which you can see above. Some have speculated this to be the new TARDIS interior, but based on the earlier leaks this doesn’t seem to match up.
In other news, the BBC released a behind-the-scenes video of Tennant filming his side of Jodie Whittaker’s regeneration.
