The 12th Doctor?

Some Doctor Who fans have speculated that the Doctor we saw die in The Impossible Astronaut was in fact a clone. This was fueled further by the appearance of a Doctor double in The Rebel Flesh. But would his clone have the ability to regenerate in the first place?
According to the Daily Star, the answer is yes. Apparently, the clone Doctor will actually regenerate in The Almost People. Not only that, but there’s a reference to 4th Doctor whilst it happens.

The new Time Lord meets himself this weekend after getting cloned thanks to some alien goo. His poor sidekick Amy Pond (Karen Gillan, 23) has trouble working out who is the real Who.
There is also a cheeky tribute to ex-Who actor Tom Baker, 77. Whilst regenerating, the clone utters one of Tom’s catchphrases: “Would you like a jelly baby?”
As usual with the Star, take this with a pinch of salt. We’ll find out if this has any truth tomorrow.
