The Fez Returns!

If you’re a fan of the Eleventh Doctor’s red felt hat then this is probably the best news you’ll hear all day. In an interview with Assignment X, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have confirmed that the fez will return.

AX: Can you talk at all about what we can or can’t expect in forthcoming segments of DOCTOR WHO?

MOFFAT: Excitement, a roller-coaster of thrills and unimaginable joy.

GATISS: And fezzes.

MOFFAT: There will be a return of the fez.

They’d better keep River Song away from it!

In the same interview, Moffat also responds to the rumour that Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch will be appearing on Doctor Who as the next Master.

MOFFAT: “No, there is no truth to that – unless suddenly there is. I mean, actually, honestly, there are no plans of that kind at all – I don’t guarantee that I’m not lying and I don’t guarantee that I won’t change my mind. So there you go. Hopeless answer.”
