Yates Updates on Doctor Who Movie

The man who is bringing Doctor Who to the big screen, David Yates, has spoken out for the first time since the news broke

“I can’t really talk about that because its such a long way away,” Yates told MTV News (via Den of Geek). “We’re principally looking for a writer, and we’ll start with that. Everything has to start with a great script, so that’s more important than [casting].”

Despite many Whovians expressing concerns over the direction of the movie and how it plans to start Doctor Who again “from scratch”, Yates says that he isn’t worried about the pressure.

“I’ve lived with pressure for so long. What’s pressure? I don’t know anymore! It’s fine, it’s good,” he said. “It’s such a wonderful character and such a wonderful world. It’s exciting.

“It’s a long journey and we’re going to take our time with it.”
