It’s time to reveal DWTV’s poll results for the eighth episode of Series 12, “The Haunting of Villa Diodati”, as voted for by you over the last week or so.
“The Haunting of Villa Diodati”: Score Breakdown
As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.
- A few thousand of you voted, and the average score was 7.56. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be “Good”.
- This leaves “The Haunting of Villa Diodati” as the 75th highest rated episode of the whole revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken in 2018). More specifically, it is situated between “The God Complex” (7.57) and “Rose” (7.45)
- “The Haunting of Villa Diodati” marks the 2nd highest score of Series 12, and the 3rd highest rated episode of the Chibnall era thus far.
- The standard deviation – which is our measure for how divisive an episode is – was 2.63. It’s a polarising episode again, but at least a bit of an improvement.
- Overall: After a couple of very disappointing weeks, we’re back into healthier territory. While it’s another episode that sadly can’t quite reach an 8, it’s a good result for this era.
