YOUR Verdict on “Wild Blue Yonder” – Decent, if lower than expectations
It’s time to reveal DWTV’s poll results for the second 60th anniversary special, “Wild Blue Yonder”, as voted for by you over the last week or so.
“Wild Blue Yonder”: Score Breakdown
As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.
- Several thousand of you voted, and the average score was 7.46. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be in the “good” range.
- This leaves “Wild Blue Yonder” as the 77th highest-rated episode of the whole revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken in 2018). Specifically, it falls between “Rose” (7.45) and “The Haunting of Villa Diodati” (7.56).
- Among the 33 Doctor Who stories written by Davies so far, including those with co-writer credits, “Wild Blue Yonder” is ranked 16th. This positions it around the middle of his contributions.
- The standard deviation – which is our measure of how divisive an episode is – was 2.54. DWTV considers episodes over 2 as “very divisive”. While this is better than last week’s result, there is still disharmony in voting patterns.
- Overall: A slight improvement on last week’s score in all areas, though perhaps a little lower than expected. This episode still does beat all but four of the Chibnall era episodes though.
